You’re a Bad Ass, No Matter What

In our house, we have routines. We prioritize structure. We set limits on screen time. We do chores. We use our manners at the dinner table. We do our best to raise kind, healthy, happy kids.

And still, we make mistakes.

Some days, we lose our patience. We say things we wish we hadn’t. We wonder if we are doing enough. Because raising multiple kids means juggling a million things at once. You have to divide your heart, attention, meals, etc. Ever made 4 plates at once? Yeahhhhhh.. It means some days are loud and chaotic, patience runs thin, and despite our best efforts, things don’t always go as planned. In fact, they’ll probably never go as planned.

But here is what matters: We keep trying. We show up. We love them unconditionally. We apologize if we have yelled. We play with them. We do what is best for them.

Our kids don’t need perfect parents. They need the ones who teach them that mistakes don’t define us, that love is consistent, and that trying again is what really matters. They need parents who educate them, motivate them, encourage them. Parents who keep it real with them.

So if today felt messy, take a breath. You are doing better than you think. You are enough. And you are a damn good mom.
